How Do You Block A Website And/or A Messenger (yahoo, Msn)?

Please help me find ways on how to block a specific website and Yahoo or MSN messenger wherein my staff will not find out. Plus, give me answer/s which only involve Freeware or techniques within Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox (for blocking websites). Thanks!!!

The best way is to do it on router level. All the machines go through one router to the Internet (I assume), so on the router you can block certain ports (for messengers) and URLs.
If you block instant messengers, please do make sure you also block all the web messengers (websites).
If your router doesn’t support all this trickery, you could setup your own name server (DNS) in your network and have all the computers use that. Then you can fairly easy block URLs (until people will start using other DNS servers).
Please check the manual of your router to see how to implement this.
