Hi,
I just agreed to buy a domain name from an individual who owns the rights. What do I do to insure I have all the rights to it? Do I just take his screenname and password from his registrar?

Once you own the domain name, you own the rights to it. What domain name registrar does that individual use? Sign up for an account with that registrar, which would be free.
Ask the domain seller to do an account transfer to transfer your domain to your account.
P.S. Taking his screenname and password does not make the domain name yours. Unless you configure the Address and relevnt info to your own, in that account. But the above way is how it is done.

Actually, this seems like a better site to get a domain.

All you do is answer really fast surveys (doesn’t even have to be truthful) and you get points. Use those points for a free domain name.
Its not sub domain either, its an actual www.yourdomain.com
and you can pick the ending as well.
